In today’s competitive market, even the most unique products can struggle to find their footing. Our client, a D2C Brand of $100 denim harnesses adorned with rock patches, faced a significant challenge. Despite targeting a passionate audience of US dog owners, their ads were underperforming. The culprit? The rock patches were prominently placed on the back of the harness, so all the product photos and videos were taken from behind the dog, obscuring its face. This resulted in low engagement and fewer orders.
The Problem
Imagine scrolling through social media, bombarded with cute dog pictures. You see an ad for a stylish denim harness, but the dog’s face is hidden. It’s easy to see why potential customers kept scrolling. The client needed a solution to highlight both the harness and the dog’s adorable face without compromising the design.

The AI Solution
Enter AI. We decided to harness (pun intended) the power of AI to turn this situation around. Our approach was twofold:
- A/B Testing with AI Prompts: Over five days, we conducted A/B testing using Chat GPT 4.0. We crafted and refined AI prompts to generate the perfect image that showcased both the harness and the dog. The goal was to create a visually appealing image that would stop dog lovers in their tracks. ChatGPT AI Prompting Tip: if you need realisting images do not start your prompt with “Create an image…” instead try “Create a photograph…”
- Text Optimization through AI Analysis: We scraped dog harness reviews from Amazon and used AI to analyze the feedback. This analysis guided us in deciding the most compelling text to accompany the images, ensuring the messages resonated with our target audience.
Top 4 things that people look for in a Harness are:
- Perfect Fit
- Escape Proof
- Breathable (itch proof)
- Aesthetics

Testing the Waters
Armed with our AI-generated images and optimized text, we tested new ads on Meta. The results were a mixed bag. While engagement skyrocketed, conversions remained elusive. It turned out the AI-generated images were more attractive than the actual product, setting high expectations that the original harness couldn’t meet.
We used Microsoft Clarity to analyse user behaviour on our website.
Sharing Insights and a Strategic Pivot
We shared these insights with our client. The key takeaway was clear: customers were drawn to the concept but needed the product to match the promise. Instead of being discouraged, our client saw an opportunity. They decided to redesign the harness, leading to the birth of the Rocker 2.0 collection.
The Result
The response was phenomenal. With a design that met customer expectations, daily orders doubled. The Rocker 2.0 harnesses flew off the shelves, and the client’s daily revenue doubled as well. The strategic use of AI not only highlighted a design flaw but also paved the way for a successful product relaunch.

Conclusion
This case study underscores the transformative potential of AI in product marketing. By leveraging AI for image optimization and customer feedback analysis, our client turned a challenging situation into a resounding success. The Rocker 2.0 collection is now a hit among US dog owners, proving that sometimes, all it takes is a little innovation to double your impact.
